Gwymac Inc will run a series of drought-focused workshops in Tingha, Ashford, Delungra and Yetman from September.
The Inverell local Landcare office was fortunate to secure a small grant under the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal's Tackling Tough Times Together program.
A mix of informative content and content designed to provide a break from the farm will be offered during the workshops.
Landcare coordinator with Gwymac, Isabella Hall has been talking to a range of providers about what might be offered.
These providers include a range of interesting academics from the University of New England, women who are proving resilient in these difficult times, specialists from the Rural Adversity Mental Health Program, and cookery experts who she hopes can offer some stress relief.
The program is also designed to provide a point of contact for people who may wish to source information about available drought assistance or would like help in filling out forms.
The workshops will kick off in September and will run to mid-2020.
More information will shortly be available on the Gwymac website. Landcare welcomes any suggestions as to what residents may wish to hear about or activities that may assist.
The program is open to all Inverell district residents. Anyone who may have feedback or suggestions in relation to the workshops can contact Isabella on 0428 273 695.
