Delungra rugby league fans will be in for a treat tomorrow night, Friday November 2, with sporting legend Tommy Raudonikis the special guest of a free Blokes Night Out event.
Designed to give both men and women a break from day to day struggles, Tommy will share humourous anecdotes from his days on the field as well as his experiences fighting for his life against two types of cancer and a quadruple bypass.
The free ‘dinner, yarn and laugh’, hosted by HealthWISE, will be held at the Delungra Bowling Club, 6pm for a 6.30pm. The night echoes previous men’s health nights in Warialda, which have proved very popular.

“He’s a great entertainer because he’s twofold. He’s been there - down the road with health issues, but stories about his football career are fabulous,” Inverell HealthWISE nurse Chris Connor said.
Joining Tommy in baring his soul will be fifth generation farmer Rob Anderson, who faced down depression after losing the family farm.
“He talks about how it affected him, how he nearly lost his marriage, how he alienated his children; especially with his depression,” Ms Connor said. She said for those facing the fear and uncertainty of the drought, Rob’s story proved there is life after the farm.
“He’s a brilliant speaker and very powerful.”
The night will also include free health checks and information, and will feature HealthWISE mental health clinician Meegan McSpedden, a talk from women’s health clinician Margie Burns about ‘Blokes Health Below the Belt’ and a discussion on 000 procedure from Inverell ambulance officer Clint McSpedden.
