The Delungra Quilters may have had less quilts than their previous display two years ago, but they had more people than ever attending this year’s Quilt and Craft Exhibition on Saturday.
Crowds gathered at the Delungra Multi-Purpose Hall to admire the depth of artistry of the hundred quilts on display. Each work required many hours of labour by the quilters who meet twice a week for a chat and to share their love of quilting.
Every two years, they hold their display that showcases quilts but also has numerous other offerings, including tea sets and an impressive show of restored antique toys by Ken Edmonds.
If you missed the fun on Saturday, you can catch more of the same at from 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
Entry is $6 and includes a lucky door prize. Proceeds of the weekend will go towards local charities, including the Women’s Cancer Support Group, Prostate Cancer (Inverell Branch) and the Westpac helicopter. For more info, call 67214212.
