NOSH on the Namoi will receive an additional $10,000 in support from the State Government after being recognised as one of the State's Regional Flagship Events.
Member for Barwon, Kevin Humphries, said Nosh was a fantastic community event showcasing local produce and people.
"Selfless volunteers and organisers dedicate hundreds of hours to organising this event and I'm very pleased to see them receive the support and recognition they deserve."
Nosh on the Namoi will attract almost 11,000 visitors in 2012 and will include a market of over 40 local and regional food and wine producers, celebrity cooking demonstrations, BBQ cooking competition, live jazz, wine and cheese master classes, the mighty red tomato race, and children's activities.
"The NSW Government is committed growing regional tourism and this investment will boost the visitor economy in regional destinations," Mr Humphries said.
"Nosh on the Namoi is just one of 33 to receive funds under the Regional Flagship Events program which offers one-year grants of $10,000 or grants of $20,000 each year for three years," he said.
Mr Humphries said the event would help raise the profile of the Narrabri area and add to the visitor experiences and attractions available in the region.
A number of surrounding events also received funding, such as Delungra's Opera in the Paddock, which will receive funding of $20,000 a year over three years to support the marketing and advertising for the event, and Dubbo's Zoo Grooves event, which will receive an additional $10,000.
