Perfect sunny skies welcomed more than 150 people to ANZAC Park in Delungra on Saturday for a special Remembrance Day service that highlighted how World War I affected those living in the community.

Inverell library manager Sonya Lange was delighted to receive a rare local history treasure from the Delungra and District Development Council this week.

Mulitple tributes will be made in Delungra on Saturday when the traditional Remembrance Day service combines with commemorating a century since the district’s Honour Roll was unveiled and the 100th anniversary of the battle of Beersheba.

With 100 competitors travelling in from all over the state, including Tamworth, Newcastle, Coonabarabran and Brisbane, locals were determined to make their mark in the NSW Koshiki Contact Karate Country Championships on Sunday, October 29.

Evenly matched – from weight class and experience right down to identical cheeky grins, local twins Brennan and Bailey Cosgrove are ready to face off at the NSW Koshiki Contact Karate Country Championships on Sunday, October 29.
