An estimated 800 people filled Delungra at the weekend to witness what may be a one-off event for the town. The small community hosted the Variety Club Bash cars as they travelled through Delungra on their annual fund-raising trip.

Delungra Bash Committee co-ordinator Margaret McGrath said the weekend was a huge success due to the effort from everyone involved in the event.

Entertainment was provided by Phil Emmanuel, Golden Guitar winner Rebecca Ryecroft and several other bands.

Activities including face painting, a jumping castle and obstacle courses were a hit with children and adults.

Margaret said the community was grateful for the help of local bashers Greg and Sherree Thomas who helped make sure the course included Delungraa.
