Delungra Public School stands especially proud this week as the grand final winners of the NSW small schools touch football competition.

The PSSA Small Schools State Final Knockout was won on Thursday in Sydney when Delungra students from Years 3 to 6 defeated schools Wee Jasper 17-2 and Neville 16-2 in the semi-finals; before taking out Mangus primary in the final with a powerful 12-2 victory.

On site, supporting the team were teachers and coaches Sarah Dawson and Rebecca Reardon.

“The children played well as a team, they stuck to the game plan and put in all the skills and drills they had learnt,” Mrs Reardon said.

“They showed excellent sportsmanship and played each game fairly.”

Delungra’s highest try scorer was Year 6 student Troy Carter.
