PLANS are progressing well for the Delungra centenary celebrations to be held on the Australia Day long weekend in January.
The celebrations from January 26-28, with the Delungra centenary committee inviting everyone to return to the village to take part in activities to mark the town and school's special milestone.
"We want people to revisit their connections with the village and have a great time sharing the activities we have planned," committee publicity officer Sam Dobner said.
"Our Australia Day celebrations are the biggest and the best in the region, with lots for all ages to see and do."
The centenary activities commence with a Friday night family picnic and entertainment from a band and fireworks.
On the Saturday sporting and other groups will hold reunions and competitions for old and new members.
Garden, winery and history tours are also planned.
A variety of food outlets will cater for all tastes.
On the Saturday night the P&C will host a dinner dance.
"The following morning the combined churches will bring our celebration to its conclusion with a church service and morning tea," Sam said.
"We would like your memories in our display, which will be open all weekend.
"Our website www.delungra.net is being upgraded, and will keep you up to date as plans are finalised.

Meanwhil e, nominations are now being called for the Delungra Australia Day community service awards.
Nominations are being accepted for the Delungra Citizen of the Year, Delungra Junior Citizen of the Year, Voluntary Community Service, Outstanding Sporting Achievement and Outstanding Service to Sport .

Winners will be notified by January 18 and the awards will be presented at the 2007 Australia Day Ceremony.
