INVERELL'S annual premier weaner sale attracted plenty of buyers and dollars to the Inverell Livestock Exchange yesterday.
The top seller title for the day was divided between two local producers, both for angus steers.
Steers from the Pearsby Hall Pastoral Co, of Delungra, sold by CL Squires and Co and the Dalkeith Pastoral Co, of Warialda, steer sold by Baldwin McGregors drew on the top price of $795.
About 5200 head were yarded for one of Inverell's premier selling days and attracted buyers from all over NSW, eastern Queensland, Victoria and South Australia.
Buyers from South Australian Livestock Co took a pen of 242 heifers and Wellingrove buyers Zaal Pastoral Co took home a pen of 239.
Top herefords were from Alkira Pastoral Co, of Delungra, on $790, also sold by Baldwin McGregors.
Top shorthorn cattle were sold by Ken and Robyn McIntyre, of Doonkami Pastoral Co in Boggabilla, with a price of $790 sold by Alex Johnston and Co.
Company The Horton Valley took home top honours for their crossbred charolais, auctioned for $775 by H Roy Miller.
Top heifers were produced by guest Pastoral Co, of Narrabri, at $670.
