With Inverell's Opera in the Paddock being added to the Australian Government Culture and Recreation Portal website, the event is now being promoted more widely than ever.
Organiser Peta Blyth said she was not sure how the event came to be advertised on the website – www.culture.gov.au/news/performan ce.htm – but it could help attract more people to the event.
"We're pleased to be on it," she said. "It recognises its (Opera in the Paddock) significance in the region."
But she added that promoting the event was not the only benefit.
"It (also) helps to promote Inverell as a cultural centre," she said.
"A lot of people who have already booked will travel long distances (just so they can attend the event)."
Peta has been busy getting as much of the administration work done before she travels to Sydney for rehearsals with the other singers in preparation for the big show on her Delungra property Mimosa on Saturday, March 17.
The musicians will also start their busy rehearsal schedule soon.
Construction of the stage has started.
Peta said three big 50mm dumps of rain recently had helped settle the dust.
"It saved us from being in the dust," she said. "It was looking a bit desolate before that."
Bookings for the Opera in the Paddock can be made at the Inverell Visitor Information Centre and through New England Credit Union branches.
