Delungra Dog Trials had a successful weekend on August 22 and 23  Delungra Yard Dog Association vice-president Matthew Ehsman said.

“It was a very good weekend, we had a lot of spectators, beautiful weather on the Satur-day,” Matthew said.

“There were very good dogs there on the Sunday.”

A barbecue lunch raised more than $800 for Beyond Blue.

Another big winner on the day was Jai Moar with his dog Dash, who won the novice event, came second in the open event and had the fastest over all time.

Ed Gray’s dog Ace also performed well, winning the Inverell Vet Clinic maiden and tying with Don Mayled’s dog Cactus for the Gowrie Vet Clinic top dog score.

Last year’s NSW Champion, Justin Tomb’s George, won the open.

Matthew was grateful to all the event’s sponsors, including Warren Rogers, who donated the sheep, and everyone who donated their stockyards for the event.

“It was a lovely weekend,” he said.
