AN enthusiastic group of Inverell and District Collectors Club members has cemented plans to host the 22nd annual Collectors Show at Delungra.
There had been doubts about the show being held this year, but it will go ahead on October 28-29 in conjunction with the Sapphire City Festival.
The show has been moved to Delungra to enhance economic opportunities for the accommodation, meals and tourism industries, as well as making use of the the multi-purpose hall.
A market day for anyone wanting to have a stand is also planned for the Sunday in the park adjacent to the hall.
For anyone who has never been to a show, a competitive section operates where displays of similar categories compete for ribbons and trophies.
There is also a trading section where many people have increased and enhanced their collections.
A great opportunity exists here to learn about unusual items and articles of interest at these shows.
Accommodation and meals are available, with the Delungra Girl Guides providing light refreshments each day of the show.
It is hoped there will be quilt and lace making displays.
A new club committee has been elected and anyone interested in becoming a member, being apart of the show or a stallholder should phone Leah Humphreys, 6724 8292ah.
Club meetings are held at Delungra Bowling Club on the third Tuesday at 7pm.
At future meetings each member has been asked to bring along an item of interest for a discussion.
