A NUMBER of Delungra sporting organisations are planning reunions and competitions to coincide with the town's centenary celebrations to be held on the Australia Day long weekend in January.

"Over the years there have been many different sporting activities at Delungra," said Sam Dobner, publicity officer for the Delungra Centenary Committee

These have included basketball, golf, tennis, netball, football, rugby, cricket, shooting and fishing.

"Many of these groups, both past and current, are organising reunions and competitions to be held over our centenary celebration weekend from Friday, January 26 to Sunday, January 28," Sam said.

" We are inviting former members of all sporting clubs to come and visit us and share our celebrations by meeting old friends, or even adversaries (in sport) and perhaps join in the competitions."

The commitee wants to hear from anyone who may have team photographs or trophies they would be willing to add to the committee's memorabilia display for the celebrations.
