Woman in serious condition after crash

A WOMAN was flown to Tamworth Base Hospital suffering from head, spinal and facial injuries after her vehicle veered off the road and rolled 10 kilometres east of Delungra yesterday morning.

The woman, aged in her 50s, was taken by ambulance to Inverell Hospital before being transferred by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter in a stable condition.

A doctor and a paramedic from Tamworth had been flown to the scene to stabilise the woman. Police said the accident happened at approximately 10.30am.

The fire brigade was also called to the scene.
