22nd of Oct, 2010 09:55 am

A GROUP of wine buyers from Sydney will visit Armidale next week as part of Industry & Investment NSW’s 2010 Regional NSW Boutique Wine Tour.

More than 57 NSW regional boutique wines will be showcased in Armidale to 18 wine buyers from Sydney, to increase the visibility of the smaller wine producers in this niche market.

The tour will trumpet some of NSW’s regional heroes which eventually will be on offer to wine consumers in Sydney. By meeting the producers, buyers can tell the story of the variety and/or style, which helps to sustain the interest of consumers and assists with identifying and buying wine from the region.

The two day tour on Monday and Tuesday will include a wine tasting event, scheduled business meetings and site visits. The format of the tour provides an excellent opportunity for the participating companies to increase sales of their products.

Participating wineries include:

Blickling Estate (Bendemeer), Booralong Road Estate (Armidale), Deetswood Wines (Tenterfield), Kurrajong Downs (Tenterfield), Melville Hill Estate Wines (Tamworth), Merilba Estate Wines (Kingstown), Mihi Creek Vineyard (Uralla), Petersons Armidale Winery (Armidale), Reedy Creek Estate Wines (Tenterfield), Richfield Estate (Tenterfield), Seplin Estate Wines (Wee Waa), Splitters Swamp Vineyard (Bolivia), Thomas New England Estate Wines (Delungra), Thunder Ridge Wines (Armidale), Toppers Mountain Vineyard (Tingha), Whyworry Park Wines (Uralla), Woolaway Wines (Moree), Wright Robertson Wines (Glencoe) and Zappa Wines (Tenterfield).
