A 20-year-old woman was flown to Sydney in a critical condition on Tuesday after her car hit a tree near Delungra.
A spokesman from Ambulance media said the woman had serious head injuries.
Two children in the vehicle, a four-year-old boy and a six month old boy were taken to Inverell District Hospital for observation.
The woman was initially taken by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter to Tamworth but was later transferred to St George Hospital in Sydney.
The accident happened at 8.47am on Tuesday morning, five kilometres east of Delungra.
