A 42-year-old man is expected to be charged after a siege north of Delungra, in north-eastern NSW, overnight.

Police say they were called to a farming property on the Grahman Road, after reports the Inverell man was threatening to harm himself after a domestic dispute.

Four children under 13, two women and an 18-year-old man were taken from the home during the siege, which involved police from Delungra, Inverell and members of the State Protection Support Unit.

The siege ended peacefully at 3:00am AEST today when the man surrendered and was taken into custody.
